Our Sweet Story
Meet the baker behind the bakery, the talented Rima Ramadan.
My mother told me that even before I was born, I had a connection with baking. The story goes that on the day I was born she was baking a cake at home and the very moment she was taking the cake out of the oven, was when she started experiencing contractions (proof that I was born with a sweet tooth!)
Growing up, I always loved to be creative in the kitchen and bake sweets for my family to try. It was the place I felt most comfortable, relaxed and happy.
Even though I knew baking was my passion and something I always wanted to do, I never truly saw it as a viable career for the future. Burdened with the expectation of getting a stable and “realistic” career, I tried my hand at University, studying a Bachelor degree in Primary Teaching. Although it was rewarding, I knew in my heart that it was not the right path for me. I also tried numerous jobs, but I found myself unhappy in each role, not truly enjoying what I was doing.
After a family tragedy in 2012, I realised the importance of following my passion to pursue a career as a pastry chef. I took a chance, putting everything on hold and completed the Certificate III in Retail baking at the Northern Sydney Institute in Ryde. Finishing the course made me sure that I was where I wanted to be. I spent countless hours in the kitchen experimenting with different ingredients and flavours but over time I realised that I enjoyed making tarts the most. I found myself always going back to creating these sweet treats that everyone seemed to love.
Each day, I continue to conquer challenges but am also faced with new possibilities. Tartlet bakery is my dream becoming a reality and I cannot wait to share it with you all!

The Future of Tartlet Bakery
My ultimate dream is to own my very own exquisite high tea experience, featuring my delicious tarts set in a beautiful location looking out to greenery whilst sipping on your favourite beverage.
I also hope to write a book one day to share the story of following my dream and the true benefits of self-discovery, a greater sense of self-awareness, acceptance, and confidence, as well as clarity around life goals and how to achieve them.
